Cartime Hot Hatchbacks

The term ‘hot hatchback’ dates to the 1980’s. The meaning of a hot hatchback describes the performance and styling of the vehicle, something of which makes us think about limited slip differentials, premium material finishes like Alcantara and Carbon Fibre, performance braking systems, turbo flutters and pure driving enjoyment.

Allow us to take you down memory lane, to the time when the first hot hatchback came from the land of Germany. The mk1 Volkswagen Golf GTI, others may know the GTI as Grand Tourer Injection. At the time of release, nothing came close to rivalling the mk1 Golf, and parts came cheap, meaning they were easy to replace.

Now, we love every form of car here at Cartime and we’d like to show you some of our current hot hatch line-up.
