You might remember back in May when we ran a track day competition on our Facebook and Twitter pages, giving one lucky winner the opportunity to spend a day at the track test-driving high-end sports cars including a Ferrari and a Lamborghini.
That lucky winner of the track day competition was Philip Atkinson from Salford, who very kindly passed the prize on as a gift to his 26-year-old son, Steven.
Steven and Philip went down to the Three Sisters racecourse in Wigan along with cartime's director Matt Kay to put the pedal to the medal.
After a quick briefing from the guys at the track, Matt and Steven took turns in driving an Alpha Romeo, before the big guns came out and they were able to put the supercars through their paces around the racecourse.
Steven, who knows a thing or two about cars as he works as the head mechanic for a private hire taxi firm, said; “It was a great day! All the cars were great but I preferred the Lamborghini to be honest. I’m really grateful to the guys at cartime for the opportunity. Matt from cartime is really good lad too, really down to Earth.”
His dad, Philip said; “When I was first told I won the prize I thought it was too good to be true. But when cartime contacted me and assured me that it was real I was absolutely over the moon. I decided to give the prize to Stephen as he’s worked really hard ever since he was 16 and he’s been saving up for a new car of his own so I thought this would be a real treat for him.”
